I rise each day with two voices inside me.
One whispers hunger, the other whispers hope.
One urges me to take, the other urges me to give.
I do not silence either voice.
I listen, I breathe, I choose.
The devil in me is fire, the angel in me is light.
Together they give me both energy and direction.
Without one, I would be empty. Without the other, I would be lost.
When anger stirs, I turn it into courage.
When desire tempts, I turn it into creation.
When compassion calls, I answer with patience.
When grace appears, I let it mend what was broken.
I am not only angel. I am not only devil.
I am both, and I am whole.
