Some movies leave you speechless with their brilliance. Others leave you stunned for entirely different reasons. It’s a strange feeling to exit a theater, still processing the spectacle of what you’ve just seen, only to realize that the real shock comes from how little of it made sense.

That was the case with the film about Mickey. Whatever expectations existed going in, they were quickly abandoned in favor of confusion. By the time it was over, the only logical step was to retreat home, hoping to make sense of it all. But instead of clarity, something else happened—instinct took over.

A Sudden Return to Reality

For some unknown reason, the television flickered on. There it was. Predator. A film that didn’t pretend to be anything it wasn’t. A film that understood exactly what it was supposed to do and executed it with precision.

The disorientation of the previous experience faded immediately. The balance was restored. The contrast between the two films couldn’t have been starker—one filled with absurdity, the other with raw, unapologetic action. Where one meandered through nonsensical storytelling, the other delivered pure, relentless entertainment.

The Call to Action

Something about Predator demands engagement. Maybe it’s the intensity, the larger-than-life characters, or the primal energy that courses through every scene. Whatever the reason, it didn’t just sit on the screen—it called for something more.

An axe. A task unfinished. The night air.

The echoes of the film carried through the darkness. Every swing of the axe felt like a response to those voices in the head. The lines, burned into memory, seemed to fit perfectly into the rhythm of the moment.

“Couldn’t you find something bigger..!”

Maybe. But this would do.

“You can’t beat this, Dylan..”

Maybe not. But the job wasn’t finished yet.

The Unshakable Influence of Film

Movies affect people in strange ways. Some leave them questioning everything. Others push them toward action. A good film can linger in the mind long after the credits roll, shaping the mood, the thoughts, even the actions that follow.

And sometimes, a great one can turn a disorienting night into something unforgettable.
