What is the purpose of logging in?
Logging in allows you to keep track of the stars you earn for reading articles and (potentially) taking other actions on the site. The stars accumulate with different methods. When you reach certain level of stars your Character will change.

Menlo is a little friend who likes to tell you about content on the website when you play with him. He is one smart frog companion! You can click on the speech bubble to make it disappear. The auto play happens every 12 seconds. The age goes up 1 every 5 min. The happiness goes up 1 for every play. (The name Menlo is a reference to the children’s cartoon show Recess)
